Last week I promised a food post to cover what I ate in Vancouver two weeks ago and I hope you’re ready. There is going to be so much food here. Of course there were great eats at the conference, it was a food bloggers conference after all. However I was also blessed to be able to stay with and visit my sister-in-law and her husband, who also share my love of food. The whole weekend for me was full of amazing meals and I was very happy for the walk every day to and from the Four Seasons Hotel to help me burn some of those calories off.
I was going to do a top ten list but that is insane so I’m just going to start at the beginning, because I hear that is very good place to start. Here are the photos of all the delicious things I am still thinking about two weeks later, from the beginning of the trip to the end.
Vij’s Railway Express, Lamb Kebab with Ricepuff and Chickpea Salad.
The Cascade Room’s All Grown Up Cocktail which is Long Table Gin, Lime, Basil Syrup, Skookum Grape Shrub and Smoked Pear Bitters.
Burdock & Co, Whole Roasted Walla Walla Onion with Pine Mushroom and “Heidi” Cheese Fonduta
Burdock & Co, Kale and Ricotta Gnudi, Castelevantro Olive and Walnut Gremolata
Burdock & Co, Marscapone Cheesecake, Cocoa Nib Granola, Cherry AND Salted Milk Jam Custard with Ginger Snaps AND Almond Caramel Tart, Crème Fraiche AND Heirloom Apple Tart with Vanilla Cream
Butter Baked Goods Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Vij’s, Local Pork Belly with Apple Mint Chutney
Vij’s, Wine Marinated Lamb Popsicles in Fenugreek Cream Curry on Tumeric and Spinach Potatoes
Vij’s, Grilled Sablefish in Yogurt, Tomato Broth on Navy Bean and Onion Masala
Vij’s, Chai and Dessert
So, not a lot of words this week. I was going to share stories with each of the food pictures but that would make this post WAY too long so I thought I would let the food do all the talking. Thanks to Vancouver and again to the Food Bloggers of Canada! Here’s hoping I make it to Montreal for next year’s conference.
