Truth, I like peanut butter on a burger. So when I was given the opportunity to try some Reese Peanut Butter and Chocolate Spread from Hershey’s Canada this is where I ended up.
Yes, I originally thought of baking something, wouldn’t this stuff be great on S’mores? Yes it would! However, I thought it might be fun to try something a little different.
The jars came to my door and we were curious to try it so my hubby and I did immediately. It took all our will power not to eat it out of the jar that night. This stuff tastes good on just about anything, like toasted bagels, with apples and yes, even by itself out of the jar with a spoon.
But, I wanted to try it on a burger.
I had a lot of ideas floating around in my brain but ultimately I decided to keep it simple, just the Reese Peanut Butter and Chocolate spread and some jam. I decided to make a stuffed burger but really, if you don’t have time you could easily just spread the Peanut Butter and Chocolate with the jam right on top of any old burger. But if you do it this way, all that ooey gooey goodness will melt right into the hamburger and just make your mouth really happy. Pair it with a glass of milk and you will be transported back to childhood PB & J sandwiches.
My husband and I loved this burger and I will make it again but I am convinced you can make this same burger and top it with bacon and cheese. Or you could even make a Mexican burger with the Reese Peanut Butter and Chocolate spread acting as a mole sauce.
Do I spoon? Of course I do but it sure is fun to experiment as the possibilities are endless and I can’t wait to discover more.
Reese Peanut Butter Chocolate Jelly Burger
Ingredients:
4 hamburger buns
1 kg of lean ground hamburger
1 egg
1/4 cup of bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
4 tbsp of Strawberry or Raspberry Jam
4 tbsp Reese Peanut Butter and Chocolate Spread
- Mix hamburger, egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper until well combined.
- Separate the hamburger into 8 even balls and form 8 patties.
- Lay 4 of the patties on a flat surface and spoon a tbsp of jam and a tbsp of Reese Peanut Butter and Chocolate Spread onto each one.
- Lay the remaining 4 patties on top to cover the mixture. Using a fork, blend the edges of the patties together to seal in the jam and Reese Peanut Butter and Chocolate Spread inside.
- BBQ or grill the burgers a total of 12 minutes on high heat, flipping every three minutes.
- Let patties cool for a couple of minutes and serve on hamburger buns with a glass of milk. Makes 4 burgers.
This post has been sponsored by Hershey’s Canada for their #DoYouSpoon campaign. I have been compensated monetarily and with product but all opinions are my own.
Wow – what an unusual combination! Such an interesting and unique idea!
Thanks Julia! I think it catches some by surprise but I think it’s pretty darn tasty.
Of all the Reese recipes posted so far I will say this truly was different idea.
Gloria, I’m laughing right know. I don’t know if your comment means that’s a good thing or a bad thing. I like to be different so I’ll take that as good. Thank you!
My grandkids would love this. Anything with peanut butter on it!!!!
I love it! Most people put their noses up to peanut butter on burgers but it’s actually quite good!
